A Postdoctoral Fellowship is available at the Research Center for Lifespan Changes in Brain and Cognition, (LCBC), Department of Psychology, University of Oslo. This position will be suitable for a highly talented candidate with strong skills in statistics.
The position is financed by the Norwegian Research Council (NFR), and linked to the project The Missing Link of Episodic Memory Decline in Aging: The Role of Inefficient Systems Consolidation. The main objective is to understand why some memories are contained in the brain and others are forgotten, and how these processes change with age.
As part of the project, we have developed a mobile app for collection of personal episodic memories over longer periods of time. The aim is to systematically test how within-person variability in several different variables affect encoding, consolidation and retrieval of memories.
The complete dataset will consist of complex time series data, that will be related to memory outcome, functional and structural neuroimaging.
The candidate will take part in analyzing and publishing on these data. Thus, a strong statistical background will be an advantage. The candidate will collaborate closely with other senior and junior researchers as well as PhD students.
The position is for a period of 3 years and financed by the Norwegian Research Council.
