Position in neuroinformatics/ brain imaging on the Lifebrain project

A full-time position as Head engineer/lab engineer is available in the Center for Lifespan Changes in Brain and Cognition (LCBC) at the Department of Psychology, University of Oslo. The appointment is for 1 year and linked to the project “Lifebrain: Breaking new ground in Lifespan Cognitive Neuroscience” funded by the Research Council of Norway. The possibility of extension is pending on further external funding
The position is suited for a person with strong programming competence and interest in signal and image processing. Imaging of the human brain by MRI and PET is central to LCBC research, and included in all projects. The announced position is critical for the success of these projects.

This is an ideal position for a highly talented person dedicated to work within neuroinformatics, neuroimaging and human neuroscience.

Scientific programmer

LCBC is looking for a highly motivated and talented candidate with a strong interest in developing software solutions for scientific applications. The successful candidate has a master’s degree or similar in a relevant field, such as informatics, bioinformatics, computer science, physics/mathematics or relevant quantitative sciences. The candidate must have excellent command of English, orally and in writing.

We expect the successful applicant to be passionate about solving programming challenges faced in human lifespan research, and we consider it an asset to have experience with/competence in:
– Python, Java/React, C++, Matlab, R
– Docker/Singularity
– ML libraries, data analysis and visualization
– Git/version control
